First Visitors - 08/2005

First Visitors

Josh, Erica, and Silas VanSlyke were our first guests in our new house this weekend. We were so glad just to have them over, little did we know how much work they would help us get done while they were here.

Our New House - 08/2005

Our New House

Our move from Gainesville, FL to Columbia, SC went about as smooth as any move that distance could go. We left gainesville at 3:30 am on Tuesday July 26, 2005 (we couldn't sleep.. so we got up at 2 and drank LOTS of coffee). We made it to Columbia, with Budget Truck intact at 9:30 am and went to closing at 2:00. Everything went incredibly smoothly with that stuff and the house is awesome.

Disney 4th of July - 07/2005

Disney 4th of July

For the 4th of July weekend, Amy and I met Amy's family at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort for a 4-day, 4-night vacation. During our stay we saw Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba (in Downtown Disney) and Disney's Animal Kingdom park. We ate at the Mayan Grill (in the Coronado Springs Resort), Rainforest Cafe, and Wolfgang Puck's. To top it all off, we caught the Disney Bus, and then the Monorail over to the Polynesian resort to watch the Magic Kingdom's fireworks display from the second floor lobby. It was truly a vacation none of us will soon forget.

Matt and Katie Stott - 06/2005

Matt and Katie Stott

It was so awesome to get to see one of our best friends get married to the love of her life this past weekend. Here's the story of Matt Stott and Katie Lohuis' wedding from our eyes.

Camping at Chau Ram - 04/2005

Camping at Chau Ram

To kick off our week of househunting in Columbia, we decided to go white water rafting on the Chattooga River. Since we were camping for most of our trip anyway, we decided to spend the nights before and after that adventure at Chau Ram County Park in Westminster, SC. It ended up being one of the most beautiful campgrounds we've ever stayed at...and it was less than a half hour from our rafting outpost!

Rascal Flatts - 02/2005

Rascal Flatts

On Friday, Ames and I decided to try to get last minute tickets to the Rascal Flatts and Blake Shelton concert at the O'Connell Center. We showed up an hour before the show and while we were waiting for the ticket line to open up, we found someone who had bought great tickets on level one and then was able to buy floor level tickets. So, we bought her extra tickets and couldn't have asked for better seats. It was an awesome concert.

Mammoth Caves - 11/2004

Mammoth Caves

I tried convincing myself and my co-workers that I couldn't afford to go on their trip to Mammoth Caves in Kentucky. But the week before they were leaving, after a few more persuasive cost conversations with Kent, I cracked. I said I'd ask Ames, and she said GO! So I bought the necessary thick socks, waterproof boots, elbow pads, and snack food, and we hit the road for Kentucky on Thursday, November 4th.

Halloween - 10/2004

Halloween

Halloween this year was a blast. Friday was a bit busy as we actually went to 3 different parties that night. One for work, one at the Currier's, and one Shindig at Mike and Caroline Smith's.

Football & Hurricanes - 10/2004

Football & Hurricanes

...but nothing to do with Hurricanes football. I've been working on jasongraphix.com a lot lately but we've still been taking pictures. Here's a little UF football and hurricane randomness.

Brandon & Miranda Dritenbas - 09/2004

Brandon & Miranda Dritenbas

It was so great to be a part of the wedding of my good friend Brandon Dritenbas, to his sweetheart Miranda Moyer this past weekend. Brandon and I have known each other since middle school and even though we've lived far away from each other since we both left for college, we've stayed in touch. To be the best man in his wedding was an honor I could not pass up...even though it was in a land far, far away. :)
