New Roof
It's roofing day. The supplies showed up last week, and the roofers just showed up this morning. I'm excited that it's finally getting done.
Office Renovation
I've been really busy with my book lately, but Amy has had some spare time, so she decided she was going to do a "little project". She ripped out the carpet in the office, painted all the trim white, painted the walls a lighter green, put up new blinds, and put down the same Ikea wood flooring that we put in the guest bedroom.
Aidaris' 26th Birthday
On Saturday August 5th, Amy and I went to the Grinlatin Club (Charbonneau Apartment Clubhouse) to celebrate our friend Aidaris' 26th birthday. We had a blast, and Amy made another one of her delicious cakes!
Third Anniversary
To celebreate our third anniversary, I surprised Ames with a fun trip to Charlotte, NC. We shopped at the Southpark Mall, had dinner at Brazas Brazilian Grill, and went to an improv comedy show. I figured the shopping, dining, and show would be the best part, but it was definitely the Omni hotel in downtown Charlotte. The city views (from our room and from the pool) were amazing!
Eyma's Birthday Party
When Eyma's boyfriend Wes decided he was going to throw a surprise birthday party for her, it was hard to keep it a secret. Somehow the word never got to Eyma even with the huge number of her friends that showed up. Wes asked Amy to make her signature ice cream cake that she made for my birthday and then again for Eirini's. This one was bigger and better than any that she had ever made, with three different flavors. It was awesome!
Alina and Sean
A couple weeks after Amy's Mom and Maw Maw were up, her sister Alina and her boyfriend Sean came to visit. While they were here we went swimming in the Saluda river, tubing down the Congaree river, dancing at Salsa Cabana, ice skating at Iceland, played video games and mini-golf at Frankie's Fun Park, watched a Chinese acrobatics show, celebrated Alina's birthday, picked blackberries, and played a lot of XBox. I guess there is a lot to do here in the summer. :)
Mom and Maw Maw
Amy's mom and maw maw (grandmother) came to visit us from June 7th through June 13th. While they were here we got to visit the botanical gardens, have a cookout, go gem hunting, and tour the Biltmore Estate.
Laminated
On Saturday, Amy and I went to Ikea to pick up some laminate wood flooring. On Sunday I finally hooked up the TV on the fireplace wall, but on Monday I needed to work on Chapter 2 of my book, so Ames installed the wood flooring in the guest room mostly on her own.
Before and Afters
Ames just finished painting the fireplace screen in the livingroom silver (with heat resistant spray paint) so we thought it be fun to post a few different before and after shots from around our house.
Fanelli Visit
During the last weekend of April the Fanelli's came to visit. While they were here we went to the beach at Isle of Palms, but it was so windy that we decided to spend the rest of the day walking around downtown Charleston.
