Maw Maw's 80th Birthday
Surprise! We went back to Vero for a very special occasion.. Maw Maw (my grandma) turned 80 this year and the festivities took place at the "Mathis Resort." We had yummy Mexican food, Margaritas and even a pinata filled with fishing worms. The whole Bishop family came into town to celebrate. As you will see, we all had a great time.
Camping in Juniper Springs
When Jered and Aimee invited us to go camping with them, we had already planned out every other weekend that month but knew we couldn't say no. So we brought some supplies from both of our parents back form Vero the weekend before, loaded up our truck on Friday evening, and just took off. It was a great weekend with great weither, lots of wildlife, campfires, swimming, and off-roading. We're definitely up for doing that again soon!
Jason's Birthday & More Kendall
Birthdays for me have always been a big family affair since our family has so many in February. The newest addition to the family was the star of this years festivities though. Amy and I have had the opportunity of being around a few newborns, but none so precious as "Baby Kendall".
Happy Valentines
Even though I put off buying a card for Valentines Day till it was "too late"...and the medieval fair got rained out, we still managed to have a good Valentines Day weekend.
State Wrestling Champ
Amy and I hadn't made it to any of Alina's wrestling matches this year, but from what we had heard, she was almost unbeatable. Going into the state competition she was 17-2 for the season. Both of her losses to a girl who was no longer in her weight class at 125. When we went down to Osceola to see the state tournament, Alina didn't disappoint.
Baby Kendall
Our baby cousin, Kendall Marie Austin, wasn't due until mid-February. So when Heather's water broke in late January it took everybody by surprise. Kendall was taken up to Arnold Palmer shortly after delivery to make sure she was ok. She has a cleft pallet and her heart is on the opposite side of her chest, but as you can see from the pictures, she is cute as can be!
Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
Even though I graduated, I still get the UCF newsletter in my e-mail. I don't usually read it, but I saw recently that they were going to be taping the college edition of Who Wants to be a Millionaire at Disney's MGM Studios. So I applied for two tickets and got them. So we just took off for Orlando on a random Thursday night for the taping of two shows!
Amy's Birthday
This year, when Amy's birthday came around, I planned a really fun activity. I'm a big art history fan...and I've actually gotten Amy into it as well. Her favorite artists are Miro and Kandinsky. So I secretly planned a trip to the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala. Somehow I managed to keep it too much of a secret though and put off the whole making a cake thing and buying a present until it was too late. I think she still had a good birthday despite her scatterbrained husbands blunders.
Happy New Year
For New Year's Eve, Amy and I went to a party at Kent's house for Acceleration, and then to a party with our "Young Married" friends. Much fun was had by all.
Merry Christmas
Our first Christmas together as a married couple was an interesting tripartite experience. To avoid having to try to make "personal Christmas time", Amy and I exchanged gifts Monday night. Still, trying to divide Christmas evenly between two sets of parents in the same town was a little difficult, but it proved easier than last year.
