Fifth Anniversary
For our fifth wedding anniversary, Ames and I took a 3 day vacation to Savannah, GA. We had a great time walking the historic streets, eating at places like The Olde Pink House and Vinnie Van Go Go's and chilling on the beach at Tybee Island.
Painting Begins
Stump grinding didn't work out, so we decided to paint the house instead. Of course the colors we picked, didn't match our intended color scheme, but we still think it looks great. Our neighbors especially like what we've done with the windows. We are very tired.
Eirini's Baby Shower
Amy made another (see the list) amazing cake creation over the 4th of July weekend, this time to celebrate Eirini and Jan's amazing creation. The baby shower was fun. To finish off the weekend we went to Lowe's and bought a little bit of paint.
Master Bath
For over a year now, we've been avoiding using the shower in our master bathroom after we discovered it occasionally leaked into the downstairs bedroom. We had intended to make it "usable" but adding some shower doors and finishing the wallpaper removal until Amy found a killer deal on a faucet set. Then I had some plumbing to do...
Tree Removal
Ames and I had the 5 pines in our yard, and the big oak on the corner of our house removed to make way and let in some sunlight for our landscaping projects.
April & May
This is what happens when I don't post pictures for 2 months. There's too much going on in this gallery to describe in one little text box. For a quick summary, read the blog post.
Brian and Colleen
On March 29th, my good friend and former college roommate Brian Reese got married. I was honored to be a groomsman in the wedding and it was fun for Ames and I to get back down to Orlando. Best wishes Colleen & Brian!
UCF Visit
While I was down in Orlando for Brian and Colleen's wedding, I woke up early one day to take a walk around my old stomping ground.
SXSW 2008
Last year was my first SXSW Interactive festival and I was blown away by the size and calibre of the event. Getting the opportunity to go back and speak at this year's SXSW festival was quite an honor...and of course, it was lots of fun.
Dr. Aviles and Dodgeball
Early this month our good friend Misael defended his thesis to become Dr. Aviles. To celebrate, we went out to Miyabi, and then came back to our place for a toast. After the champagne, we got started on our intramural dodgeball shirts. This year we have a coed team, "Oldies but Goodies"; and a girls team, "The War Kittens". You can see the shirt design for both over on jasongraphix.
